Meet Matt
Born in New York and raised in The Garden State of New Jersey, Matt has been growing food since early childhood. From summer days and nights spent with his grandfather in their home garden, to apprenticing on a 150 acre certified organic beef and vegetable operation, to getting to run his own certified organic vegetable farm and CSA, he has been there for those 4am lettuce harvests and 18 hour planting days.
He believes that Greenhouse Agriculture, all the way from cold frames to fully automated greenhouses, is one of many appropriate technologies that can help make farmers and growers more resilient, which in turn makes local food systems stronger and better able to serve the communities that support them.
Aside from agriculture, Matt’s formal education was in communications and video editing from William Paterson University in NJ. A range of professional experience has had him working in facilities management for a large organic supermarket chain, as well as being Sales and Operations Manager for a small Farm / Construction equipment dealer. Matt is excited to share this breadth of experience with growers looking to up their production and efficiency with solutions from Rimol Greenhouse Systems.
Matt is a people person; being able to work with growers to expand their capacity and hear the details and intricacies of their operations is always a new adventure and fuels his passion for being a part of making life easier for farmers and agriculture better for communities. Either he has experience doing what you love, or would love to hear about what you do.
A devoted husband and father to two boys, Matt appreciates the small moments in life and also spends his free time running, lifting weights, cycling, cooking (and eating!), working on his house and garden, and dabbling in photography.
